Blessed.

//A woman came up to me today. She had formerly lived in the Phillipines.
"I tell my daughter that she is so lucky. I didn't have much in the Phillipines. I went to school with my clothes torn. If you get sick you just stay in the corner. You just wait to die," she said in broken English.
We are so blessed. We have a home, a bed, food in the refrigerator, friends, enough money to spend on a frappuccino, access to a hospital, new clothes, and how do we respond? By complaining that the barista is moving to slowly, that our complexions aren't good enough, and that we were just slighted by so-and-so.
We are blessed. We have so much to give.
Don't forget.

anointed.

Happy Monday!

I've been reading in Hebrews lately and, for quite some time, it talks about how Jesus is our high priest. There was one verse that really jumped out at me:

"God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy." (Hebrews 1:9)

In this passage Jesus is the one who has been anointed, but I believe that God has anointed us with that oil, too, through His Son. I love having a tangible picture of God pouring the oil of joy over the heads of His people. God hasn't anointed you with despair, stress, frustration, anxiety, burdens, or weakness. You have been anointed with joy.
